Practice makes perfect!

So we set up our stroller/car seat combo today and took it for test drive in the front yard...

And a belly shot. It's dark because k forgot to switch the camera to auto mode, but I like it for some reason...

All this Kicking...

I think we are raising a little belly drummer!!
So I am finally feeling some full kicks now, k was able to feel 3 in a row last night, pretty strange but exciting at the same time.
I first started feeling somthing around 17week, but while chilling on aunt Lisa's deck a week later on July 4th, I knew I was feeling our little peanut!

Attack of the hormones...

It's official, I am hormonal with a pregnant brain.

So for 2 weekends in a row I manage to head over to my neighborhood Yoga studio 1 HOUR early!! To kill some time I walked into the brand new baby store, the tulip grove in Montclair.

I was browsing along, picked a stack of mysterious cloth looking item and was completely confused about what they are, but they were cute so I went on to ask of the ladies store owners... "oh, those are burp clothes". what? in my mind I was picturing some cloth diaper looking cloth, and could not make any connection with the cute little packet I held in my hand. Sensing my confusion, the lady went on to show me a "bone/bow" shaped fancy burp cloth that you drape over your shoulder... this didn't help me connect the dots either. Finally, she asked,"are you looking for a gift?" realizing that this is first time I step foot into a baby store since I got pregnant I told her that no, actually I am expecting a baby later this year. She than proceed on to let me know that "baby's like to burp after feeding..." and all the great baby care tips. Something in me just let go, and I started sobbing uncontrollably, in front a complete stranger! Luckily the ladies there were totally supportive and friendly, and they showed me quite a bit of essentials and made me feel completely at ease by the end.

I also got to check out the infamous Bugaboo stroller, and I have to say I am almost convinced... I am just not convince about how much strolling we will be doing.

For those who may find this helpful, especially if you live in the neighborhood, the tulip grove also offer classes on breastfeeding, new born care and has a pretty good mom's group for support. Check them out, they are a good resource.

12 weeks Today!

Just reading this makes my heart melt!

How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

All the nausea and fatigue and even the occasional fainting feeling are totally worth it!

p.s. yesterday my pant's button popped off when I went to the bathroom!

Cute moment of the day

So I told my bosses couple days ago. They were both pretty excited.

Today right after lunch, boss S popped his head over my cube and said " have you had lunch? Are you eating for two yet?" all the while with a beaming smile

I am starting to feel pretty good about all this...

Met with the OB today!

Wow, it's been awhile since my last post. Well, today K and I met with our OB for my first prenatal appointment. Everything seems to be moving right along. We didn't get to do the ultra sound today like I'd hoped for, but next Wednesday is just around the corner! (well, at least this is how I convince myself.)

Ok, here are the highlights:
* Kev is sub a champ, he started reading the hand outs on how to prepare for pregnancy and labor right away!
* We tried to look for the heart beat with the Doppler, well we are a bit early or maybe the baby's just shy and turned away... Doc didn't seemed to be concerned. Although kev was convince that he heard it and had to resist telling the doc to go back to the spot where he heard it.
* I am + 3 lb
